Send an e-mail to registerThe workshop will discuss the European Regulation on Cosmetics, focusing on alternative approaches to evaluate the safety of cosmetic ingredients and taking into account differences and similarities with other Regulations adopted by Countries outside the EU.
The legislators are pushing more and more on alternative methods to assess chemical substances and to move towards safer chemical “by design”. The companies involved in the cosmetic industry (raw materials and finished cosmetic products) and safety assessors could obtain many advantages from the use of alternative methods such as “in silico” models. For this reason within the framework of the LIFE project VERMEER a specific case study is dedicated to the adjustment of existing “in silico” tools to the needs of cosmetic industry.
Participants will be offered the opportunity to learn about updated global cosmetic regulations. Asia makes up one of the largest share of the beauty and personal market and the Asian consumption of cosmetics will continue to increase. This great potential market attracts more and more attention of the cosmetic manufactures and distributors globally. Besides, the arising eCommerce market in Asia is playing a significant role as well.
Specific speeches on how to comply with cosmetic regulatory requirements will be given for Far East (China, Korea and Japan), Middle East, Turkey and Russia.
